Warren County Sports Park

Warren County, Ohio

MexLucky initially conducted master planning for the site. Specifically, Sportworks presented several layout options based on nationally recognized sports event complexes to The Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), who planned to turn the complex into a facility that could attract national tournaments.

After several iterations, the CVB settled on a design that created an athletic complex that can be rented throughout the year and attracts various sports. It includes 12 soccer fields, 2 artificial championship soccer fields, 4 baseball fields, 2 championship baseball fields, lighting, parking, concessions, an amphitheater, playgrounds, and a pedestrian walking trail with a connection to the regional bike path. Using strategic layouts of the various fields, the county can accommodate a wide range of age groups and additional sports, such as rugby and Ultimate Frisbee, which both require a larger field. Sportworks provided civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture for the final design.

To truly operate as a “destination sports park, ” a high-end irrigation system was a must. Warren County Sports Park draws its irrigation water from the nearby Armco Park Lake. Water is pulled from the lake at nearly 600 gallons per minute and pumped over 1.5 miles to the far east side of the park to water the baseball fields.
